RTI Presents "Safety Certification and Unmanned Aircraft" Complimentary Webinar

Attendees Will Learn and Discuss the Required Safety Certification Standards for Unmanned Aerial Systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—September 4, 2014—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the real-time Industrial Internet of Things communications platform company, today announced it is hosting a complimentary webinar, "Safety Certification and Unmanned Aircraft." The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is beginning to open the national airspace to unmanned aerial systems (UASs). The UAS commercial market is expected to eventually dwarf what is already a multi-billion dollar military marketplace for UAS technology. However, there are rules and regulations that need to be defined and met beforehand to ensure UASs can operate safely in the same airspace with passenger jets.

In this webinar, attendees will learn about these new requirements and how to effectively obtain safety certifications. Existing unmanned military platforms have not been required to meet safety certification standards such as DO-178B & C, but will need to before they can enter the national airspace unaccompanied. Edwin de Jong, Vice President of Sales at RTI and a pioneer in the development of middleware, together with industry experts will discuss the challenges with meeting safety standards in unmanned aircraft, as well as solutions for navigating safety certification effectively.
