RTI CEO Elected to the Industrial Internet Consortium Steering Committee

IIC Steering Committee to Manage Efforts to Improve Integration of the Physical and Digital Worlds

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—August 19, 2014—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the Industrial Internet of Things communications platform company, today announced that CEO Stan Schneider has been elected to the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) Steering Committee. The role of the steering committee includes (but is not limited to) fiscal oversight and setting up subcommittees, such as research selection, test bed creation and defining standards requirements and priorities.

Schneider was elected by vote of the membership and will serve a one-year term as the small-industry membership representative. He will work alongside the founding members from AT&T, GE, Cisco, IBM and Intel as well as the three other rotating steering committee seats. The working groups' responsibilities will include considering research proposals and grant funding from government funds, prioritizing and developing requirements for standards to run through the IIC, making decisions on publications, defining and managing the rules, and other items.

"The Industrial Internet, and in particular the rise of intelligent distributed machines, is the most exciting transformation of our time," said Stan Schneider, CEO of RTI. "The greatest opportunity for the Industrial Internet is the integration of operational technologies with cloud analytics. The IIC can and will be the preeminent driver of this future.  I'm honored to serve on the steering committee."

The new Steering Committee members will begin their term at the upcoming members' meeting in Austin, TX on Sept. 16-18. More information on the IIC Steering Committee can be found here: http://bit.ly/1pkyR8a
